Successful(???) 1st Night Out

Well, we did it, made maiden voyage and spent first night out in the new second home. Minor glitches on maiden voyage (for some reason, trailer loses brakes when Prodigy has blue wires pulled apart under the dash - DUHHHHH!!!), only took an hour to find that one (LOL). TV performed admirably, cruise set at 68 with D/A in 6th (OD), without a problem for the thirty-mile haul. Set-up took about a half-hour (I didn't think that was too bad for first time), other than the initial head knocking from the bedroom slide. Definitely see a piece of pipe wrap going on the bottom of that slide (wonder if it is available in white or is paintable). Other than that we are extremely happy and extremely impressed with the new Monty!!!! Will be out the next three nights continuing the initial adventure.

Congrats on a good FIRST. I don't think that pipe wrap comes in white or if it is paintable but you might consider that a bit of bright color on those edges will prevent a "thumpin" rather than just cushioning it. Others have used pipe wrap, "Noodles" swim floats, and tennis balls for this. Half-hour is a good time for a set-up, first time or not.

I know it might sound stupid and even look stupid but I HAVE A HARD HAT that goes on when setting up and tearing down, saves on head knots.I have learned to walk around that front cap after we are set up and to give the bedroom slide plenty of room.

Bingo and Cathy!

Congratulations on your maiden voyage - glad everything held together OK!

Now that you have the initial dent in your head, you don't need to worry about it anymore. Most of my scalp is still stuck on the slide so it works as a cushion the next time I hit it.

Congrats, Bingo and Cathy. We, too, are on our maiden voyage, and all has gone well except that the handle for the galley tank came off (yuck!). Good news is that we're parked next to Steve and Vicki Reigle, and "the boys" are gonna fix it tomorrow. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!

Glad things went good. Go check out Ozz's mods. He has some white bumpers on his bed room slide to protect the head.
