I have a question ...
What do you call those things that look like long fishing poles and RVers use them to fly windsocks/flags. They're really flexible and bow in the wind.
Also, where do you buy those thingys? I know I saw at least one at the Minden Rally ...

Vicki, we call them "long fishing poles". Glen bought ours at Shipshewanna. Does that sound like a perfect plan for someone going to the rally? They are actually long, 24 foot expandable fishing poles that compact into about 3 feet for storage. There are different lengths. Ours cost $21.00 plus tax. Another booth had them for more $$.

There are a couple of places on line also. I've seen them when looking for other things. We also see them at a lot of RV shows and fairs. The wine and balloon festival we use to go to every year always had a couple of vendors there selling them along with windsocks and twirly thingies. Check polesandholders.com.

Thanks, Sue ... I'll check it out and, if I don't find one in Shipshewana, I'll cruise the net to see what I can come up with.

Vicky, here is a site I found with all types of flags and flag poles for RV's. Looks like they are real popular with the toyhauler crowd. http://www.polesandholders.com/home.php

Nice link, AZ. I might say that this purchase can get expensive. Being cheapos by nature, we attach ours to our rear ladder. Some of that One Way velcro could be put to use for this project. The poles themselves can be priced at a wide range of amounts so it pays to shop around.

That was pretty much what Ed felt when I approached this subject. Notice I don't have one.

Judy, we will probably use the ladder attachment method. That fits my pocketbook.
See another Montana or Mountaineer on the road? Flash lights twice, it might be one of us!

Vicki; We attached "Hank" (the Honker) on his pole with a pole holder we purchased at the Good Sam Rally in 2005 - there is a company that sells the whole thing, bird, pole, and pole holder - ours is bolted or screwed on to the ladder as well - Hank is not in the best health now but will be at the rally and I'm sure we'll be looking for a replacement at the next Good Sam Rally, to be held also in Redmond, Or in Summer of 2007...yippee

Here is the link that I bought mine from and the under tire mount and cut a hole in it and put it between my hitch pin and front stabilizer. worked great.
