From what I understand, Low Sulphur Diesel is what is commonly available now. 2007 trucks will require Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel, which is coming. I think you will be able to use ULSD in older trucks, but you won't be able to use the current LSD in the newer trucks. Most service stations will likely just carry ULSD in the future although some of the bigger truck stops may carry both, at least for a while. (It really depends if they have tanks to accomodate another separate kind of fuel).
That is my understanding anyway. You might want to research the implicatioins of new environmental regs before deciding on a new truck. 2007+ may prove to be less desirable than current models from a fuel economy and power perspective.
