Residential Frig
We have a 2021 3761FL with a GE Res Frig. I tried everything to get it to cool while driving with no luck? Could there be a problem or just operator error still. Thanks

Here is my check list, not a legacy model.
Make sure the inverter shut off in the battery compartment is on.
Make sure the inverter remote switch in the trailer is on.
Make sure the ground fault outlet where the transfer switch plugs into the inverter is not tripped and the little green light on the inverter gfci outlet is on.
Fridge should be working.

Thank you….I didn’t remember to check the remote switch. If I’m not mistaken, it is a toggle switch on my central control panel.

no fridge power fix
This has happened to us several times. The GFI on the inverter trips sometimes when you start the inverter, always check the fridge when you get ready to move. The reset is on the inverter itself, not easy to do as the reset button is on the end with the display in the top of the pass thru compartment.
Good Luck.

If you have the CSW2012-HX inverter the 12v battery power to the rig must be on in addition to the inverter power from the batteries. If the coach doesn't have 12v ON (red battery switch in convenience center) the inverter will not output (though it will have power from the batteries). There is an orange "ignition" wire going to the opposite end of the inverter from the larger gauge battery wires, it has to have 12v to it for inverter to produce 120v. As far as I know - only the CSW2012-HX has this ignition wire. Had same on our rig until I swapped to Victron.

I have the Magnum Dimensions Inverter and it was wired wrong. No settings or switches would have fixed it. Told the dealer and they knew exactly what it was (not their first time with this same problem). So, I guess it depends on your situation. Switches and settings may fix yours, but my wiring had to be fixed (some connector not near the inverter).

got this idea from someone else i thought on here. wired in this light on the load side of the inverter https://www.amazon.com/Alpinetech-PL...s%2C223&sr=8-5
and mounted it on the front of the montana can see it driving down the road so i know the inverter is on which means the fridge should be working.

After you hook up to truck & disconnecting shore power, inverter should read 13.5 - 14 volts telling you power is being supplied by truck. Ensure inverter switch is on.

We have a Residential Fridge from long ago pre-inverter that's just plugged into the old plug for the failed Absorption Fridge. The longest we've traveled between hookups is 12 hours (unforeseen delays) and Ice Cream was still Frozen. And usually travel is no more to 4-6 hours so what's the problem if the Fridge is off? Our travels are usually in the HOT south....

It took a couple attempts to get the inverter to power the fridge for us as well, mine seemed to be happiest with the inverter being turned off after the shore power was removed.
I fought a couple rounds with residential fridges failing in a couple different 5th wheels.
Our new operating procedure is to run the fridge off the inverter but not while driving. Since making that change we haven't lost a fridge. I can't say for certain the driving when a fridge was running was causing the failures, but I don't think the residential ones are happy with movement. The last toyhauler had both fridges die within the first 24 months.

When I had my Magnum inverter, it tripped the built-in GFI frequently. I opened up the inverter case and replaced the GFI receptacle with a standard unit. It didn't power anything outside or in the wet areas so the GFI wasn't warranted. After that, I didn't have any problems when it changed from shore to inverter and back. This would likely alleviate the process of turning off the inverter prior to changing over to shore. It took about 20-30 minutes to swap.

We have a Whirlpool Residential Fridge and it's been running non stop for 7 years and 50K Plus miles. Never turn off the Inverter and it just does it's think, powering the fridge when ever a loss of shore power.

Did the same thing with a similar blue LED. If memory serves, it was Bob Rohrman's post that inspired me.

The Residential Frig manual states that Frig should NOT be pluged into a GFI outlet. I removed the GFI outlet from my inverter and replaced it with a standard outlet. No problrms since.

I did the same thing-not a problem in 3 months. It was a pain would have to unload the basement then I had to take the inverter off the wall to reset the GFI. Replaced with a regular plug and not a problem since. Thanks to the forum.
