Leveler jacks

The rear leveler jack is leaking on my 3402 montana 5th . Question i have is how to repair leaky seal or where one would go besides a RV dealership to get work done. Online U tubes doesnt appear that strait forward. If i remove hydraulic lines to remove unit in a retracted position how much fluid will i loose? Also curious during long storage are some leaving jacks down or up?

I replaced a middle jack on the door side in the retracted position. Obviously I did not loose to much oil in that position but there was some leakage from the lines during the replacement process. I believe that I lost more do to the leaking cylinder than during the replacement. In the extended position you will obviously loose a bit more depending on what position the cylinder stroke is in.
Lippert was very good to me on that issue and took care of their customer.

I believe you can take it to a hydraulic repair shop and they can fix it for you.

I can't find the info for the size of the caps to cap off the hydraulic lines while they are disconnected.

Plug and cap Size for the JIC37 fittings ...
3404C-04 Cap
2408-04 Plug

Size is 1/4 Inch for cap and plug

I carry two sets of these... handy when you need to repair a hyd line, etc.. Any NAPA store should have these... Images from a PDF I wrote

And yes a decent hyd shop can rebuild the Lippert levelers and you could also do it yourself..

You will loose about a cup of hyd fluid with the lines removed from the fittings on the leveler if you have no caps

OK I Googled these puppies as they seem like good things to have "just in case". Sure enough some shop in Ohio (?) had them at a reasonable price but shipping was over $35. The heck with that, I went to the local Grangers. These numbers didn't make sense to them but they guessed they had them. As I wasn't comfortable with their guess, I thought I would go back to the source. So hi there!

Do you have a link to the LCI PDF containing the pictures you posted? I can't seem to find it via Google.

Should NAPA be place that will have these fittings using these numbers? There is one a ways away but worth the trip if they will have them.

You wrote these are all 1/4" yet is appears one is 7/16" and the other is 3/4" (if I am to believe Granger). Aren't they both for 1/2" hose? What do I have confused?

Very frustrating dealing with Lippert. They have identified my leveler as there own but wont give any information as to parts or schematics. They only sell the complete units yet the unit is a servicable one. I live in west coast canada and every hydraulic shop i call is not interested in small Ram repairs. I will likely tear it down and take to local seal place and see if i can match and attempt to re do myself.

The “PDF” IS NOT from LCL… I wrote the PDF for a group I am in..am myself

The caps are readily available at any NAPA parts store that makes hydrauilc lines

Not all NAPA stores do this so find your local store that does and they will have the male and female caps for JIC37 fittings

I referenced some in my PDF so folks would have PNs on hand in case they need to order on line

Also if I was in need of a Lippert hud pump motor id simply have mine rebuilt by these folks if I could afford the down time..

Thanks, the E-bay caps are reasonable ($7.5 for 5), but the plugs on Amazon are not ($6.39 for 1). I will find a NAPA store and their price first.
