in command system

2020 Montana Legacy w in command.
Question about hvac system. On screen it shows a vent button (open, close) separate from the normal (cool, heat, auto) What does this do and when do you use this?

Hi Scott,

I called the incommand people (ASA) about this. From the tech I spoke with, it should be connected to the fantastic fan, but on our Montana, and by the sounds of it yours as well, it is not. So, it pretty much does nothing if it does not control your fantastic fan, its not gonna do anything.

I was thinking it was like your car where it would either choose to suck air in from the outside or re-circulate it from the inside, but it doesn't work that way. I didnt think it would as the A/Cs we have, have been the same design for the past 15 or so years.

For sake of mind, i just put it on closed.

We were told that when the vent is closed it is recirculating the inside air, went the vent is set to open in bring in fresh air. This was when we did our PDI

Yes. The fantastic fans have their own controllers.

That's what I thought too, but I don't think so after calling ASA and looking at the air conditioner itself without the plastic cover on. I didn't see any other vents to pull air in from outside. The unit looked just like all the other AC's ive had. At least on my units ( Coleman Machs )

The iN-Command manual says Vent (On and Off) and Vent (High, Medium and Low). I looked and not hooked up on my 2020 control module.
