Kitchen Slideout on a Montana M-3465 sa Hickory 2010

Curious if anyone has installed a pet door on the kitchen slide out?

Is there any electrical wiring in the short wall behind the dining room table area facing the door?

On the width of the slide out?

Please help.

Any info would be greatly appreciated?

Since the kitchen slide is way above ground, would you put a temporary walk for the dog to get up?

Putting a hole through the trailer wall? I would be afraid that no one would ever buy it or even as a trade in?

dog door

RKassel said "Putting a hole through the trailer wall?"

I was thinking the same thing. The dog door at my S&B goes out onto a porch under cover. It is far from weathertight. I would be concerned about opening up a hole that size in the sidewall. Seems like nothing good would come from that.

I understand the need for pet access (I have 3) but if it was me - I would be trying to figure out a way to add one to the screen door. I googled for screen door solutions (thinking this need has been out there for years and someone has a good solution for sale). Well, apparently not. I was not enthused about the first few pages of solutions that came up.

If it was me - I would maybe put some plexiglass over the screen door and then figure out a way to put a conventional pet door into the screen door. A screen door is cheaper to replace than fixing a hole in the sidewall. The added weight of the plexiglass and the dog door will be hard on the screen door. I do not have ideas for how to support the heavier screen door so that it does not damage or warp the main RV door frame.

I've seen doggie doors in rv's and considered doing one myself. Ours would best be placed in a slide so as to be inside the trailer when the slides are pulled in. There is no way of knowing what is behind the wall so checking first before cutting is advised.
