Slide room's drifting out during transit.

I'm trying to troubleshoot our slide room hydraulics. Does anyone know the size and type of plug I need to screw into manifold to test the cylinders?

If you want to cap off a hydraulic line, mine are -5 JIC fittings.

Thats what I have been looking at and it is what suggests removing a line and capping the port, just does not tell you size for plug.

GA, this is a little different approach, but are you sure you are holding the retract button long enough? Same thing happened to me, and I found that if we held the button until we heard the pump drag down(instead of letting off the button when the slide appeared to be in), they wouldn't slip out. Came out three times before we figured it out. No problem since.

Laying on the retract button for several seconds will just make things worse "if" he has a bad seal in any of his cylinders. The built up pressure on the retract side of the cylinders will bleed across the bad seal and push the slide with the least resistance out (usually the bedroom). If you have to lay on the retract button to keep your slides in .. you probably have air in the lines. Cycle the slides full out and full in 4-5 times and the system will self bleed.

Only saying what I found, and how I fixed it easily. That was last August, works fine now, and no leaks. Only have to stay on the switch until the pump starts to drag down, not necessarily until it stops. Nice heads up, though.

I understand what you're saying ... I just mentioned it "if" he has a bad cylinder seal.

Zach, if this is happening now and your unit has been in storage or sitting at home your problem is common. It could be that there is air in the lines and the air and fluid is expanding now that it is warming up. If you go into the Search Engine here and search for creeping slides , you should find previous posts on this problem. In most cased the air can be removed by rotating the slides in and out several times and making sure the fluid in the reservoir is at the correct levels both with the slides in and the slides out. Try this and see if it helps before you disconnect a line and test it. This COULD put more air into the lines also. Good luck and let us know what you come up with.
