I don't leave mine on because if the power goes off, I can tell by non-inverted items going off. Years ago, it was recommended to me not to keep the inverter on all the time since it uses power in the standby mode and is subject to wear and tear. We spend a month at a time in the RV, and I can't see letting the inverter run on standby for a month.

You obviously have a different setup. Don't know what year or model you have but the newer rigs are set up differently. As far as the inverter being left on, the only operation occurring is the transfer relay is engaged supplying shore power to the outlets. It's not really running and it's not drawing from the batteries.

If mine is on standby, it's using electrical power to keep it in that mode....and is subject to wear and tear.

Then I agree in that case turn it off.
