Dometic Themostat
Good day everyone!! We have a question that may have been asked and answered before.
Our thermostat does not turn the A/C on in the morning when it heats up in the 5er after being off during the night. I have to turn the thermostat off and let it sit for a minute and then turn the thermostat back on to AC for the unit to come on. Has anyone else had this issue?
Does the thermostat need replacing to correct this problem???

This is a big problem with the Dometic dual zone thermostats. We have been back and forth with Dometic numerous times and have replaced the thermostats, face plates, etc. Still have not found the solution yet, but you can monitor it on the thread we are working here https://www.montanaowners.com/forums...ad.php?t=81164. Hopefully, we are getting close. Current theory is that it has to do with the freeze sensors. BJacobs is testing with the freeze sensors removed to see if that fixes the issue now.

Actually there are issues with the newer non-dual zone thermostats as well. Call Dometic and insist they send you a new one. Not hard to change.

Time for a Lawsuit?
I am curious. It seems this issue has been ongoing for at least 4 years from the research that I have done. Many other sites like this one across other RV makes and models and their owners have the same complaints regarding these systems.
Dometic always seems to respond to customer/dealer complaints by creating a support incident for them and then walking through the same ole "TRY THIS", "THEN THIS", "THEN THAT" approach and after 4 years no end in sight it.
If there are any lawyers out there with experience in matters like this. Can you please help me understand why some sort of action in mass from a legal perspective would not be appropriate?

I agree, the thermostats are easy to change and Dometic has been willing to replace them. However, that doesn't seem to fix the problems we are having. So far the thermostats have been replaced, the face plates have been replaced, the control boards have been replaced, etc., etc. Still no solution to the problem. Very frustrating.
