Well - I cast a vote as a Trailer Trailer. I do definitely know we have a TT, just not real sure if it counts as a Mountaineer (because it's both). It says in big letters on the front "Montana" (you can see it in my avatar) and real small by the door it says "Mountaineer by Montana". When ours was built (2000 model), "Mountaineers" were all TTs and they were the Montana TT line while the Big Sky and just "Montana" were the fifth wheels. The way I remember it, a new plant was built for Mountaineers (TTs) but the 5th wheel business really took off about that time, so the Mountaineer plant began a line of 5th wheels - sort of a "lower end" Montana at the time.

Ours (as you can see) is a TT because our pole building only has a 12ft door on it. We really like our TT.

2004 297RKS 5vr. It is a good unit. I have fixed a few things to my specs. No other troubles. Looked at the tt in this model in 04 but the 5vr showed up on Ebay new so we made a good deal on the unit.

5th wheel for us. Had to go with the Mountaineer because the "Montana" line didn't have bunk beds for our little ones. After working out the bugs we have been satisfied with the unit.

The Mountaineer 336RLT 5ver was our final choice after months of looking. The Mountaineer had more of what we wanted such as 2 bathroom sinks & the rear sliding bumper/bike rack,in my opinion it was a big bang for the buck.We prefered the rear bumper over the rear cap on the Montana and also like the electric outlet on the side.I installed the second a/c myself and also front scissor leveling jacks to level it up quickly, drop and block/shim the landing gear and this is one stable trailer.Installed a battery on/off master switch to prevent over charging when plugged in.I'm still tweaking a few things out and installing groumets around electric cables.Only a few minor repairs so far that we've done ourselves.Heading out Friday for three days of fun.

Our Mountaineer is a 2006 329RLT which we have had for almost a year. We chose this model for all the room and the enclosed bathroom. We have been very pleased with the choice and our dealer.

Our Mountaineer 305FKS is a travel trailer - we like the accessability and fewer steps up for access outside and in. Also - I wear a shell on my GMC DA and carry some cast iron ware / gas camp stove / ect.
The full size mid bath / shower was the real selling point for us and I installed a larger Thetford toilet on an angle for more comfortable usage.
We have added full Lazyboy interior, extra lighting in the tip, satelite cabling, ect for super comfort. We quite enjoy the rig.

We have the 297RKS Fifth wheel. It is great with the rear kitchen and the great mountain view window. The window was really nice when we were in the Colorado mountains to use it. We went with the fifth wheel because it pulls nicer. Just my opion. Actually any camper from Montana would be better than none.

we love our Mountaineer - pulled it 6K miles this summer in a little over 3 weeks. Fits out family of 4 (2 teenage sons) well.
Replaced the original tires before the trip this summer for added peace of mind.

We have a 2004 297RKS. Great unit, well designed and problem free.
The only negative about this unit is the useless convection of the Apollo microwave.

We have the 2006 344ret 5th wheel and just love the entertainment on the back wall.
Makes the living room very open. Took it to Alaska this year and held up pretty well.
