White Elephant Exchange at Mid Atlantic

I'm sure that most of you already know how to play the game. Just a reminder to purchase a gift, no more than $20, to participate. Something you would like to win. Lots of fun! The trading brings out personalities. See you there!

In the past, it was a gift per person who wants to participate, not limited to one gift per RV. Hope it is that way or someone will be dealing with some irate women from the hills!!

It is one gift per person who participates. One person, one gift, two persons, two gifts and so on.

Only one gift per participant.
All gifts are placed in center of room. Each gift is numbered and each participant draws a number. Then the fun begins. You will love it! It's a little complicated to explain here.

Hmmmm, have never seen it done with numbered gifts. We used to draw numbers to see the selection order, but each person was allowed to select their gift or the usual steal from another. Makes it more interesting with deceptive wrapping practices to entice the gift selection. However it is done, I am sure it will be a blast!

There are many variations of the game, but in previous years, we drew numbers to select the "drawer". That person then has a choice of any unselected gift from the table or can "steal" an opened gift from a previous "drawer". If the "drawer" chooses an unopened gift, it must be opened in front of everyone before the next "drawer" is selected. Typically a gift can change hands three times, original recipient, then two "steals", before it is deemed "safe" and cannot be taken again. For some reason wine always seem to be stolen until it reaches "safe" status. The game always leads to some "spirited" exchanges, interesting husband-wife exchanges and "strategies" and a few instances of mixed emotions!! Guaranteed to be a great time for all particpants!! Rules are subject to change at the beginning of the game at the discretion of the event leader! There, that leaves it wide-open for you Larry!!

Bingo has the rules correct as it has been done at the fall rally and the regional rallies we have been to.
