US 87 in Montana

Looking for some information from anyone that has traveled US 87 (Montana)from Great Falls to Billings. I would like to get a feel on the road bed, time it would take and any other information you can share. Thanks Jon.

Haven't been on that strech, but we go to Montana every other year to visit son. The Montana roads are really quite exceptional. Never had any trouble at all.

Thanks for the info. You guys sound like us in regards to the way you travel west. We are in Ohio and travel through Montana to Seattle to see our youngest son. This summer will make our eighth trip if fuel prices do not block us from driving. Jon

Thanks, Farmboy; we are going to be moving through Montana from late June to early July. We are traveling out of Ohio to Seattle for a week and then on to Glacier NP for another week before we have to be back in Ohio and work. I used to complain about having to get back to work but with the economy this year it is almost a pleasure to say we need to get back to work. Jon

The roads here are exceptionally well-maintained, we think. The only problems of note we've encountered are a few stretches here and there that have "frost heaves" occasionally, and those are generally well-marked, in advance, so that you know to slow down. But overall, we think the roads are no problem whether you're towing or not.
