harleyf250,
You are a brave soul indeed. The best we have done is camping in low 20's. Be sure you have electric heaters to supplement the propane (two 30# tanks is sub-freezing temperatures will last about 3-4 days). With the electric heat you have to force the furnace on occasionally to keep basement and the pipes and tanks warm. When ever you accomplish this mountaineering feat (sorry couldn't resist the WVU pun) definitely keep us informed as to the livability of the 3400. I know several other posters on the forum have endured near 0 temperatures, so it is doable. Good luck,
Bingo

I know there is at least one Campground in Gettysburg, PA that does year round service (Roundtop). I know it is not in the mountains. Good luck.

The KOA in/around Hershey the KOA in Delaware water gap are open all year the KOA in Kinzua is open till Dec. 1st. All are in the mountains. I would recommend not using any water utilities. I would use a porta jon and potable water. I hunt out of my Montana and this is what I use. I also watch the weather close for snow storms and if one threatens I will close the slides and bring down the antenna. I usually hunt in north west Pa. and lake effect snows with accumulations of 18-24 inches of snow are very common with temps in the low teens and the come up fast. The time of year is the first Monday after Thanksgiving for the next two weeks. As Bingo says 60 lbs of propane 3-4 days. By the way Bingo I have some great pictures of Christmas in the Montana with about 3 feet of snow on it, I can email them to you. One other thing we have the 3295rk and it takes about a day to really warm up to tempreture of 70 degrees from stone cold.

Walter,
I would say a lot of people would like to see a snowy Montana. Heck, post them here on the forum for inspiration for the Snowbirds!!! Best I did was a couple of inches during the maiden voyage at Easter.

Here are those pic's, hope I did it right. This is winter camping!! I know that it may be had to tell, but the snow on the ground is 2 ft. deep drifting to 3-4 feet. The temps hovered around 12 degrees and we stayed about 5 days. At day 3 the Montana was just getting toasty and day 4 I had to search out a place to refill the propane tanks, ran on the fireplace for about 2 hours and it did a really good job of keeping it warm.

That's my boy Fred. He is still with us and is now 16 years old and still relatively spry. He need a little help now to negotiate the entry steps. Fred is a English Springer spaniel and was my hunting buddy for about 12 years, now he is just a chow hound and still my buddy. In that picture he is about 13 and couldn't keep his eyes open long enough to open up his Christmas presents. That was Christmas of 2004,Freds last year of hunting and the Montana was about 2 month old.
