Bed instead of Box
In my 3280RL I just hated the bed that looked like a box with a mattress on top of it. So here is what I did, First I got rid of the scratchy bedspread, found one that was nice and soft, then bought fabric to match, cut 4 strips 48 inches long and 21 1/4 inches wide. Sewed two strips together, on the top edge turn under one inch and put three rows of a running stitch leaving about 6 inches of thread on each row. on the bottom press up 1/4 inch with iron then press up another 1 7/8 more for hem, For mine it needed to be 19 inches long. Then you just pull on the three rows of the running stitches till it is 471/2 inches long. I did this in three pieces using thumb tacks to to hold the ruffle to the top edge of the box with the bed up. The two sides was this size and on the foot I cut the strips 52 inches long. Now I have to tell you that when I look in the bedroom now I see a bed and not a box with a mattress on it. HAHa. Next I am going to recover that headboard or at least try, and make new curtains for the bedroom.
I know that I might have left out something out so If you would like help just email me.
