Cullman AL

Planning our annual trek to TopSail in April. We would like to overnight in Cullman AL. I noticed in my way outdated Woodalls book that there are two camp grounds listed Cullman CG and Good Hope. We don't want to venture too far off I65 so have any of you had any experiences at either of these two. I guess for just a overnight one can't be too picky either way.

If you have time there is a beautiful covered bridge and old grist mill at Cullman. Check this link, it will give directions and pics.

We stayed at Cullman CG back in 2003 and again this past April. You come off 65 and take a left. It is only a mile or so from the traffic light. a left hand turn and it is tricky and the sign is small. I've missed it both times. The road in is interesting but it looks worse than it is. both times I have been there, the owner saw me coming and greeted me on his golf cart. He led me to my site and just said get set up and come see me when you get ready. I believe all the temporary sites are pull thrus. Free WiFi.

If I go through there again I will stay at the same place.

Thanks David, I think we are going to include it in our travel plans. We wanted to stay somewhere in the Birmingham area. We stayed at Birmingham South last year and the train whistles kept us awake. Reminded me of Goshen.
