Smoky Bear Campground

Hey gang, just wanted to get in here and say that, if you ever need a nice, clean campground near Gatlinburg, TN, this is it.

Gail and I stayed there for several days back in September. They are north of Gatlinburg on 321. Easy drive to anywhere you want to go from here and away from the hustle-n-bustle of the tourist traps.

Also, great views of the Smoky's and in a short drive, you are up in the park.

Not hard to get to off I-40, either.

Thanks for the tip! I’d like to go back to that area before long and I believe I was looking at that one on the internet do you have their web site information?

Bill, their email address is smokybearcamp@comcast.net and the web site is smokybearcampground.com. You should also be able to find them on the web by doing a search.

It was a small, clean and convenient place with several pull-thru sites. We have it on our list of campgrounds we'd return to.

Smokey Bear was on my short list also. Looked really nice. Seemed a little more private than most. I ended up at a new campground. Up the Creek campground in Pegion Forge out by Walden Creek. They have several waterfront sites at a reasonable rate.
