I have read that overnight parking for RVs is allowed (they suggest asking the management for permission first) alongside the big rigs.

Their web site is not RV friendly, however; no mention of RVs being allowed to park.

Flying Js are RV friendly and depending on the Flying J location, they allow over night

I have the Flying J RV Real Value card and was told I can use the card locks and stay overnight in the truck park or on the lot if RVers are allowed to camp just ask inside about staying there.

On our most recent trip to Quartzsite this year we stayed overnight in the Flying J parking lot in Barstow, CA. We learned about being able to stay in their parking lot (as compared to the truck parking area) from our friends the Korcheck's. It worked out great and was relatively on the quiet side. So everyone now knows about our 'secret' spot.

Mark and Dawn please keep us informed of what you discover out on the road.

Thor,
I'm confused by your merging statement. I know that Flying J has done some reorganizing but don't understand what you mean. I'll have to check and see what the merger actually entailed.

Thanks in advance for any clarification you can provide.

Dennis

Flying J and Pilot merged. I forgot who bought out who.I think Pilot bought Flying J.. Just remember there is a difference between over night parking and over night camping. Bringing out the slides , dropping the awning , setting out the camp chairs and barbie (we have seen that) is camping not parking. Truckers park over night on a regular basis.

Thanks, radioattic. Sorry to read that news. I have always found Flying J pricing, facilities, and policies to be RV friendly. Can't claim same for Pilot.

What I have noticed lately from Flying J is the WAY higher price of fuel! Much cheaper in post regular gas stations. They really have the truckers over a barrel!

Thanks for the info We have stayed many a night at the flying J. The first night our caravan to the keys we will stop in Corbin Ky. and only a pilot there. We will just park with the big rigs, but will ask for permission. THX all
