Lap Sealant on Roof

I have never used this product before but I see a few places on my Monty that I would like to touch up. Do you just clean the area and apply the sealant over the existing caulk? Do you need to spread it out or does it settle itself? Thanks.

It's self flatting, and will level out accordingly.

This stuff is great - next in utility to duck/duct tape and WD-40. It is self-leveling to an extent- the warmer it is, the better. I have applied it fresh and also over old sealant - works fine. Clean the old sealant with a damp rag and let dry first.
I poked a small hole in the roof elastomer, and sealed it up with this stuff. Works so far. I also found a gouge crack in the fiberglass side of the rig and shot some over that, wet my finger and smoothed it out - it behaves like epoxy when you do this and molds nicely.
