NY to Fla keys thru blue rdg

This summer We are planning on taking our 3931 (42 feet) down to the Florida Keys and would like to go by way of Blue Ridge Pkwy!
Looking for campground suggestions, and anything else!
Thanks

I live close to-the Parkway. It’s a beautiful road. I’m on it frequently. It’s. The most used national park but it’s never crowded. Most use comes from locals using the road. It’s a great place to ride a motorcycle. There are CGs every few hours of traveling. The CGs don’t have any hookups. I think they all have a dumb station and water. There are tunnels you go through. Some people think you can’t get through then. Check the specs on them. You can easily get through all of them.
I say go for it drive slow, stop frequently and enjoy the ride.

I'm sure MLH knows more about the parkway than me but I would not pull a 5th wheel on the parkway. Especially the southern end. The tunnels are arched and if you could hog the center line your chances are better. You can get on the parkway around Boone,NC and go for a good distance with no tunnels. You can get the tunnel information by google search. Also there are a lot of pull offs with easy exit but there are one or two that you have to turn around and exit the way you entered. Not easy with a 42'.
We love the BRP and October is peak season. Speed limit is 45 and if you drive 45 you may get run over. Sad but true.

Where I’m on the Parkway, a few miles south of Roanoke if you run 45 you might run over someone. That is why I said go slow.

Glad to hear that. That's the way it should be.

We stayed at Fancy Gap KOA last year on the way home and it was nice. We take I-81 and I-77 on our way to Florida every winter. We have not driven the Parkway, but some time I would like to see it. I think we would likely find campgrounds along the way and then just take the truck over to it. I have heard in the past that it is not a good road for big rigs.
