Complete private shutdown

We shut down the Montgomery/Jenkins RV park yesterday, and one of our friends staying with us had to switch to boondocking for a few days until she's ready to leave. We closed our home base for the winter, shut off the electric and water and capped the sewer and left town. Now we're off to visit grandkids, then Joyce is going to paint in the Northern New Mexico desert where Georgia O'Keefe painted, then down to Deming for some Mexican shopping and then on to Yuma for our winter gig. For those who enjoy free full hookups while traveling thru Kansas we're expecting to reopen the home base in early May with a minor break in the summer for the Mid-States Rally.

Enjoy your travel and be safe. Northern New Mexico does have some inspirational sights.

The very best reason I've heard of lately to close a park. Have a safe trip along with a good Fall and Winter.

Don't miss Faywood Hot Springs or City of Rocks while at Deming. What route are you taking through New Mexico? I was born and raised in Las Cruces, so I might be able to help with points of interest.

You guys travel safe, and I really appreciate what you did, hauling the big heavy half-time oven all the way to the Ozz compound, not many folks would have put themselves out like that.
Kansas has good folk!

Thanks for the good wishes folks! Jim, thanks for the offer of help, we'll probably just come down the interstate, but we usually kind of wing it. Joyce went to high school in Albuquerque and has friends out there. I spent a number of years on a national board with a guy from Rio Rancho so you never know if our original plan will be our end result or not. If we fool around too long up north we may put Deming off until the spring and just head straight for our winter gig. The nice thing about this lifestyle is having a plan, but still making it up as we go along.
