What exactly did you do, Stiles? Did you use WD-40 to strip it? I guess first I should ask whether you stripped off the old slip-plate or maybe you removed the grease and replaced it with slip-plate?

On mine, it initially had slip-plate installed. I wasn't convinced so stripped it and went with white lithium grease. What a mess that was, collecting dirt, twigs, etc. So I stripped that and went with slip-plate again and have not regretted it.
