Washer plumbing

Having just purchased a new 2006 3670RL I was real surprised to read on this forum that some models of Montanas run the washer drain into the black water tank.I went and looked at mine and sure enough in read at the drain that it went to the black water.I did not beleive that anyone could be dumb enough to go past the other two tanks and put it in the black water tank,so I ran a garden hose into the drain and sure enough they were.Do they not have any design engineers working a the Montana plant.O well I bought it and will live with it but dont have to like it.

Ray, you are correct. I just got off the with keystone rep. and he told me that the only thing they can't run in the black tank is the shower. Because of the configuration of some of the models, they do run the washer into the black tank. Still doen't make alot of sense to me......Les

We just purchased a 2007 3400rl and the washing machine does not drain
into any tank, straight to sewer. My concern is when I am connected to sewer what about sewer gases. No trop that I can find. Any solution

dwells,
I am connected to the sewer hook up for 6 months at a time. Have not had any problems with gasses coming into the coach.

Mine is draining straight to the sewer line. I was told I had to be hooked up to the sewer in order to run the washing machine.
I never thought about sewer gases coming back up. So far everything is ok, I havent smelled a thing...Nasty thing that is. (besides me)

Well, I have had my Monte all apart, and the trap is in, under the steps, over in the wall on the floor level.
No gas smell for the Monte owners!!!

What you have to do if you want to use it when you don't have hookups is purchase a valve that hooks where your sewer hose connects to your unit. They just twist on. Then with it closed you open the valve to your Galley and gray water tanks and it will back flow into them.

Ours goes straight to the sewer.

My question is how do you get to the ends of the drain in the coach...up from the bottom?
