ELECTRICAL POWER

When plug in to electricity and I have on a light, TV and start the Microwave, the lights dim slightly and when starting the microwave - it soon slows also. Has not blow breaker - but is this a normal function. (Iam running our refrigerator and hot water on gas). I feel it shouldn't be overloaded with no more than we have going.

Would appreciate anyones input on this. Thanks Wild Bill

Does this happen always? Try plugging into another receptacle to make sure the power supply is not the problem.

I'd then check the plugs on Your cord, then check the socket in the side of the trailer. Might just be a loose wire somewhere.

Wild Bill, by chance are you plugged into a 20-amp or 15-amp receptacle at your home or are you plugged into 50 or 30-amp at an rv park?

Gotta agree with Steve on this one. Had almost the exact problem last year when we were connected to a 15 amp circuit at our old stick house. Same results with just the frig and a couple lights on I turned on Microwave and the lights dimmed and microwave didn't work at all.

Or the campground is not giving you the proper amperage. It may be a 30 or 50 amp plug but that does not mean that is what you are getting. Get an electrical tester and check it out to be sure.

Like others have mentioned we need more info on your amps and how you are set up. With electrical there are many variables that could cause problems or be normal depending on your setup.

I would check voltage in the coach. You should be getting 115 plus. less voltage= more amp draw = dimming lights. This could be your problem.

I've had this problem at campgrounds with poor electrical supply. put a meter in one of your outlets to see what your input is.

We just had this problem at a campground and thought we had blown the tv. Had the campground manager check and he said we had the proper voltage so thought it must be the camper. Spent the next day waiting to get into a repair shop and when they tested the Montana it was fine. He said we could have had the correct voltage but not the correct amps. He said it sounded like the campground manager had split a line. By the way, the tv and everything else was fine.
