Need fireplace remote.

A fellow camper on another forum site has a 2011 Montana High Country 5vr model 343RL. They just purchased it used. It came without the remote for the fireplace. Short of having to remove the fireplace to find a manufacturers name, anyone out there know that info or know where they can get a remote. I told them to try and call Keystone which may be their only option.
They are also missing the remote which controls all the slides, awning and jacks. Where can they get one of these?

Our rig came with a fireplace without a remote so finding one wouldn't help because it doesn't have a receiver. We found the rig remote to be more trouble than it's worth and, if you search on the subject you'll find a number of topics on how to bypass the receiver on it so that the slides etc will at least work manually. In short, we wouldn't want either one now that we've lived in the rig a few years. They could, however, try trekwood.com they have a lot of replacement stuff.

There was a discussion on obtaining a replacement Montana remote (not a fireplace one) just two days ago. Go to page 3 and 4 for the current info.

P.S. I and others are fans of the remote despite what you might read. It has its uses when hooking up and opening slides in tight locations.

X2 on being VERY happy with our remote. Don't know if your fireplace came with one, ours didn't either.

Love the fireplace remote. Actually works. . Would find the manufacturer and model number and call them. For the primary remote, guess I would start with the dealer. To be honest, we (exception fire place), are part of the remote hater crowd. Ours never worked reliably on our old rig, we tossed it.

Our remote is a Dimplex 47-1010 T remote. You can buy one on ebay for between $25-30. Ours works great. Wouldn't want to be without it.

I have a 2011 HC 343RL. fireplace works only on manual setting the switches all on. Remote will not turn on or off or set anything. Trying to find a brand name but nothing I can see. No operating manual whatever. Trying to see if it is the remote or the unit itself. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

We need to make sure the remote is bad first, right? Or do you already know that? And of course if you want to proceed, we will need a new battery, and a mobile phone with a camera feature on it, preferably a smart phone. You don’t need to be near the FW to do this, just the remote. Might be faster for me to link a YouTube video rather than type it, I’m sure someone has done this. Be right back.

If you haven’t replaced the remote battery, that would be my guess. Mine lasted 3 years, and takes a CR 2023. A little tray slides out from the bottom of my remote.

It’s not the best video on testing any IR remotes, not just tv remotes, but you will get the idea. It is really simple. Hope it helps diagnose your remote.
