Hello from Utah
Well, I'm Doug and my wife is Virginia. I just retired this past Friday, was working as a Parts & Service Director at a Ford dealership. I've worked at Ford dealerships since 1989. Retired as a SMSGT from the Air Force in 1989. Anyway we just bought a 2006 Montana 3400RL. It was a repo so it's a little rough around the edges but I seem to have some time on my hands now and hope to have it ready to go early spring time. I've already learned a lot from the club and it's forums. We really are looking forward to traveling around the country during retirement and maybe meeting up with some of you guys.

Welcome to the forum. As you work out the "rough edges" you'll find a great group of knowledgable and helpful folks on this forum. All you have to do is ask. We're hitting the road more this year ourselves and hope we get the opportunity to meet you.

Welcome, Doug, hope you enjoy your retirement. There is a great country to see. We have visited 45 of the 48 contiguous states and have enjoyed every one of them. Happy RVing.......

Doug and Virginia welcome to the MOC forum. When you decide to head out with that 3400 come and join us in Nebraska for the MOC Central Plains Regional Rally here in Nebraska in July. It would be chance to meet some of the MOC members that are on the forum and talk about your unit also. Did I mention food??? If not that's another reason for joining us! We have some of the best cooks in the world in MOC and they strut their stuff at the rallies. As others have said-- if you have any questions-- ask way! There are a lot of real experts on this forum when it comes to Montanas and how they work and any problem can be solved just by asking in most cases. Again, welcome to the forum and enjoy that Monte!

Congratulations, If you like camping, traveling and seeing new sights you should love the lifestyle. I retired from the the Air Force in 1994 and plan on doing the same in early fall if all goes well. Have to sell the home and sell or store belongings... Hope to see you around...

Doug and Virginia congratulations on your retirement! Jim & I are retired and love the freedom that it gives you.
Jim is retired from the Navy and when we travel with the Monty we use the military campgrounds whenever possible. That's a great benefit.
Safe and happy travels and maybe we'll meet up somewhere in the future.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. We hope to hit the road in the spring. Still working on repairing a lot of little things in the Monty. Just found 2 hydraulic hoses leaking for the slide outs. Should have that fixed tomorrow. I'm hoping our warm (50 ish) weather holds out while I'm working on the outside of the 5th wheel.
I hope we do get to meet a lot of you folks during our travels.

Hi Doug, Sue and I love our 3400 RL, I bet you and Virginia will as well. If you have any issues with it that you have questions about, just let us know. I think tightening all the electrical connections on the electrical panel would be my first move. My 2007 had most of them extremely loose.
Enjoy retirement, you earned it.
