Anyone want to hike while at Q

Just south of Q begins the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. We work for the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge which is associated with Kofa. I do maintenance at Kofa from time to time and Joyce staffs the visitor center at Imperial which also serves as an information point for Kofa. As a part of our job we need to be familiar with what's at Kofa and one trip we haven't made yet is to drive back and hike the Palm Canyon Trail. We thought we would do it on Monday just before the end of the Rally. Is anyone interested in making it a group event. Here's some info on Palm Canyon: http://www.americantrails.org/nation...Canyon-AZ.html
We plan to only hike till we can see the trees which isn't a bad hike. Others may want to go to the trees and that's fine, but a much more difficult hike. Probably the biggest problem on the hike would be that Joyce and I have been tour guides in several desert areas the last several years and can't keep from sharing what we've learned with others

I'm disabled to the point that I can't go but Claudia wants to go with you on the jaunt.

That's great, sorry you can't go also. If she'd like she could ride with us.

That looks like a very interesting hike Dick, I am not able to make long arduous hikes but think I could make this one and will plan on doing just that when I am staying in Yuma in February and March. Sorry can't join you but thanks for posting the link.

No problem. Come visit us at Imperial when you get down our way.

How long and strenuous will it be? We aren't really hikers but need to start somewhere.

Since we haven't done it ourselves I can't make any guarantees but it's not supposed to be hard unless you want to hike beyond were you can see the trees to where you can touch them and if it turns out to be more than we want to tackle we can move on to something that's not. Kofa is a neat place. Home to Desert Big Horn Sheep and other interesting critters and rock formations. While we do occasionally hike as a part of our job, we are not "Hikers". I have a knee replacement and both of us have bad knees and other old folks types of issues so I think you'll be just fine.
