Grand Tetons NP

We are staying at the Grand Teton Park RV Resort right now and what a dump it is. Thank goodness we are here only a short time. I can not believe that they even call this a resort. The price with our Good Sam discount is $50.05 per night.

We made reservations here thinking that the holiday weekend would be busy, there are about 15 RV's in the park and there are well over 150 sites here.

The "Resort" sites are weeds with a little gravel thrown in. The roads in the "Resort" are dirt and have not been maintained at all, they are so rutted and bumpy that you can barely drive on them.

The Spa at the "Resort" has no water in it and even if it did who would use it?

They have hook-ups, but no TV, there is WiFi. On a clear day you do have a beautiful view of the Grand Tetons.

I would give this a rating of 1 star.

Next time we are in the area we will stay at Colter Bay, either in the hook-ups ($55.00/night) or the dry camping area ($18.00/night).

Thank you for the report.
I will NOT pay that much for a CG. That is just taking advantage of people, especially with a name that elicits grandeur.

I hope you post your experience in a lot of web sites that have "reviews" of CG's.

We've found many places use the term "resort" very liberally. And many we wonder how on earth they think they're a resort. It would be laughable if it weren't a waste of good money. At least you're in a beautiful area. When we visited there Vicki kept a close eye on all the passing vehicles, hoping to see Harrison Ford, who has a ranch west of Jackson Hole. Nope, no luck.

campgroundreviews.com give it a very low rating. Mostly 1s and 2s with one being generous and giving it a 5.

We've found that many times the term "Resort" rates right up there with "World Famous"!
