Leaf Springs

In doing a visual check on the Monty, I discovered that the two springs on the road side are not aligned on top of each other. The front spring on the curb is also like that. Pulling the trailer, it seems to be pulling straight and riding smooth. Can this be corrected or are new springs needed. I've never seen leaf springs looking like this on a trailer or vehicle. Nothing appears broken or sagging.

I think they just slip sideways, try beating them in line with a hammer.

as long as the center pin is engaged and the u bolts are tight there should be no problem. cars with multi leafs and maybe some trailers used to have a metal wrap on the ends to keep them aligned. I would not worry about a little movement. just check your u-bolts to see if they are completely tight.

Thanks guys, you have eased my mind. Bought a torque wrench yesterday and will make sure all the bolts are torqued to specs. Really appreciate this site and all the knowledge here.

If there are no clamps holding the leaves in alignment, is it possible for the leaves to rub against the inside of the tires? JMHO- Don

My misalignment is nothing close to the tires. Just not totally even, maybe out an inch or so out of square. If they were getting close to the tires I wouldn't post any thing here unless I wanted to announce a trip a repair shop.
