Changed door swing

The door to our bunkroom in our 346LBQ swung into the bunkroom. With the optional sofa/sleeper you could not open the door enough to get in the bunkroom with the bed out so I changed it to swing into the living area. I actually ended up being a much easier mod than I thought it would be.

That is one of those things that makes you think why was it not that way to begin with?

Its better that way too, it swings out with a push if there is a fire in the unit and you don't have to use the window.

I agree with that also, and great job!

Not in that bedroom that's for sure. Guests would not necessarily think about the window and panic when they couldn't get out of the door during a fire with the bed out. Very bad design and great thinking and a great mod on your part.

My main concern when starting this was that when one of our younger grandchildren were with us, we couldn't get to them without going outside. There is an exterior door in the 1/2 bath to the left as well as the emergency window over the couch. My guess is that since the bottom bunk was standard and didn't interfere with door swing they swung the door into the room. I hadn't thought about the fire issue. Thanks for pointing that out, I feel even better about doing it now. I think I'll send an email to Montana.

And there's ample wall space to open the door "out" also. That must have been too obvious an option on the Tuesday your unit was put together!
