UPDATED new addition to the OEM cornice boxes

Well I got tired of all the ripping and frustration of getting hung up on those darn curtain hold backs, you know the ones that have a piece of fel-crow attached to the wall on the side of the windows.

Here is my newist project for the Monty I will post some more pictures after they are installed.
these pictures are the construction process and a dry fit.

on edit 5/25/12 Just started to hang the ones I can get to while the Monty is in storage.

This is whats going to the round file and being replaced.

I still have some more to do also relocate the tension strings on some lower the factory did them poorly.

I also put in the new window that I purchased from Bill.

sorry about the side ways but I have tried rotating it and shrinking it to no avail.

on edit:
this is all I can do with the slides closed I have the 2 big windows in the back to put up but all the rocker chairs are in the way but here is all in the dining slide completed.

Thanks for all the good words, I have the Monty at the storage lot, so putting the sides up will be in a few days because I have to pull it out and bring it home then park on the street for any work to be done on her. and on top of that Lowes didnt have enugh angle or "L" brackets to secure them to the wall, I was only able t get 20 each of 3/4" by 1/2" but it will be enugh to get me started.

In your previous working life were you in the upholstery business? Very professional looking. Waiting for pics of the installation.

Thanks for all the good words.
I will say this much about diong a retro fit, you will run into problems as I did with the dinning room window, what I ran into with most of the cornis boxes mounted under the cabinets was that the factory just slammed them up there with a couple of long screw and hoped they hit something solid, another problem was the way that the day-night shades are mounted to the wall, I dont know why the didnt mount them to the top of the cornice boxes which I will be doing to that dinning room window real soon, it is too close to the window frame and the area between the day night and the cabinets made it almost inpossable to mount flat aganst the wall and up against the bottom of the cabinets the shade prevented that the space was not wide enugh to allow the cornic box to get in there.
I will be making a change to all there day night shades mounting in the near future I did mount one to the box and it actually worked better.
