I have my ladder mounted and another tube

After needing another adition to the monty I decided to install a ladder rack under the monty this will hold a 8/16 foot extention ladder I also installed a new tube for sewer hoses and guieds.

Nice addition, I imagine once you get used to having it with you it would be difficult not having a ladder. Looks like it would be real handy.

I had a 2 hangers made out of 3/16 X 2 inch wide strap, and welded a mounting bracket so it could be mounted to the frame with stainless bolts and Nilanuts so it wont unscrew. I had a A frame ladder but it was unstable on uneven ground 4 legs verses 2 and I can get to the roof if needed a lot safer, the OEM ladder is ok, but hanging my chairs and a ladder on it looks like a bit too much for the OEM ladder. LOL I am Trailer Trash 2 but realy dont want to push that name to the limmit.
As for clearance? there are none the front legs are in there normal position which is lower than the ladder by a inch.
if you notice the tubes it seems they have changed the way the door opens, instead of that heavy spring pull and turn, to a nice spring loaded thumb lift latch, I might get another to match the new one.
securing the ladder to the bracket is simple a 1/4 inch pin through the bracket and ladder the kind with the ball berrings that go in whe a button is pushed. and a bike lock .

Looks Great. I don't think they would be any lower than the newer dropped frame.

Time will tell, but I have two sewer hose tubes mounted there on the Monty and they are both now black from road spray, dirt, oil and gunk. If I had a ladder there I wouldn't dare touch it until I had spent half a day de-greaseing it. Now our Monty does have the Drop Frame so things are lower to the ground which may make a difference. Anyway Hope your ladder stays cleaner than our sewer tubes.

Good point about road dirt, I guess if that happens I can always mount the ladder between the two tubes, or move the tubes forward and put the ladder in the rear of the tubes they will shield them from road dirt.

Yep, that might help, as my front tube is really black and yukey, while the second is nearly as bad. We solved by buying one of those folding step ladders that are about 4"x4" when folded. Serves it purpose when we need it and it stays clean in the Basement.

See what a sheet metal shop would charge to make a C shaped piece to fit the inside of hanging brackets. Just slide it in place and screw it down a few places, and drill the holes you need to secure the ladder inside. Should keep the road spray off all but the very ends, maybe even get door ends made.

Great idea, I'll will remember that if cleaning become a problem its a lot easier than relocating everything, it will allow me to slide the ladder in on one side, and not have to do it from below 1/2 at a time ( left side then lift into the right side).

Yes thats some of the problems we seem to have putting one thing on makes it a challange doing something else. but thats what makes being on this forum so great, there is always that fabracater that will come up with an idea that will work.(Brainstorming) I have seen some great stuff on the MOC, including some good sugestions for my ladder rack.
