Awning Issue

I’ve discovered that my awning is beginning to pull away from our camper with the screws pulling out. Has anyone had this issue previously and does anyone have any ideas for repair options? I’m thinking I’ll get larger screws and replace the existing screws which should pull the awning tight.

Several others have had this issue, you are not alone. There was a thread posted back in early February which inspired me to pull the screw cover off the awning rail to check on it and sure enough there were loose and stripped screws. I replaced all the screws on the main awning with a combination of #10 stainless screws and Oscar rivets. I am challenged when it comes to attaching links on a mobile device, but if you search “awning Oscar rivets” in the search box above, it will bring up several threads. Good luck

Very helpful. I have the same problem but am not sure how I access the heads of the screws to hopefully tighten them. Is there some sort of cover that has to be removed or does the whole awning have to be removed to access the screws?

This guy on YouTube uses 3/16” Mollie rivets to reattach his awning rail…
Looks like you can get the rivets in a black finish also.

Thanks. This is what I am going to do when I get home. For now i will tighten those I can and use slightly bigger screws for the others.
BTW, I realized the screws are covered by a long piece of plastic channel molding which is easy to pull back to reveal the screws.
