Water pooling 2020 3780RL bedroom

Hello MOC forum folks,

I have a recent, occasional issue in my 2020 Montana 3780RL wherein I'll find a small pool of water after a rain in a very specific spot: on the floor where the bedroom closet wall meets the support base for the bed. See photos for location.
I thought it was related to the bed slide-out. I even thought I might have caused the issue when I placed some Styrofoam insulation under that slide for the winter.
But upon closer inspection, the water does not seem connected in any way to the slide.
I tried contacting Keystone to inquire as to what is behind that closet wall that could be a potential pathway for water, as in plumbing or any other structural equipment. So far, they've given me no specifics other than a recommendation to take it to a dealer. I'm pressing them for further technical info.
The water issue only seems to occur when it rains. No signs of longer term water damage even in that area. No signs of water underneath this area in the front storage under the nose of the RV, etc.
I've browsed older threads on related issues. Wondering if anyone out there has a similar model/layout? Any ideas on how water could mysteriously appear in that spot, without traces anywhere else?

Thank you!

You need to inspect the roof cap sealant (Dicor) and the slide wipers and bulb seals.

Or the slide is letting water in. Lots of possibilities. More info?

Hi, thanks. I am a relative novice at maintenance and repair, but like to see what I can figure out and do myself before I involve my mobile repair guy (at $100 just to show up, etc).

I've been up on the roof frequently and have topped up any of the DAP type caulking that warrants it. But I'll need to look into slide "wipers" and "bulb seals". Will do.

Thanks.

I've had one local person here send me this:

Water trays on bottom corners of slide are leaking. I had the exact same thing happen on both sides of our bed slide. We have a 2022 Montana 3781RL. Luckily we caught it before the warranty ran out. They had to pull the slide completely out, replace both trays, resealed everything, and replaced inside wall panels on both sides of bed.

If it’s doing it only in rain then you need to check out that whole area of the roof and slide. Water can migrate in those things. It could be running in on the other side and migrating along the roof line and coming out on the other side. Especially if it is off level just a bit. Rolling to the down side before it drips. If that’s the issue you could have more roof damage than you think. I’m not saying that is what it is. But, that I’ve seen that and it’s something you need to be aware of"

And this:
"
I had something like that and it was a plumbing vent cover on the roof that was cracked...

Same trailer but leak was on other side of bed so came out on floor next to bed and traveled to under bathroom vanity. Sealed the outer vertical flange that mates to the exterior trailer wall. Leak fixed. There is a gasket under the flange and I feel it was compromised.

Are you sliding the slide in and out? The walls get wet when they are out and drip when they are in.

We just had a similar issue. We pulled the slide in once when it was raining to do the process of elimination and no leak. We went up on the roof and seen that the caulking seemed to have some cracks. After redoing it has stopped.

Take it to a dealer to have it water tested and resealed. We just spent a bundle to repair a leak we didn't know we had until the floor let loose.

My bet is that the water is running down the Schwintek slide track and then going down the wall. We’ve had it happen on our den slides a few times in a heavy, blowing rain."

And so I have these potential areas to look into as well.

I'm a relatively new owner of a Montana. Much to learn...

Thanks

Be sure to fully extend and retract your slide. Make sure the rubber seals fold all the way, in or out. If you partially open and close a slide the rubber seals may not fold in or out completely causing an opening for water to leak in.
