Iowa Campground
Honey Creek Campground near Council Bluff, Iowa was a sad little campground we found by watching road side signs. At one time it was a really nice CG but has been left to deteriorate. Spaces were very large, big beautiful trees. Very peaceful, full hookups but no other amenities. Okay for a one nighter but bring your own water, it smells and was red at first.
Happy trails............................

ya know, we had wondered about that campground when we drove by. We camped at the Lewis and Clark State park just a bit north of there on I-29, by Onawa - exit 112 i think. It was very nice, along the lake, and had good amenities. What direction are you headed?

Next time you're in the area try Wilsons Island State Park at exit #72 on I-29 north of Council Bluffs! It is OUTSTANDING! It's on the banks of the Missouri River. It has no water hookups but does have electrical and a dump station. Also has a bathroom and shower facility. They are not bad but are not like home or in your RV. They are clean. There is potable water available but it is about 50-75 foot from any of the sites between the site to fill your tanks if you need to. The sites are wide and easy to back into or they have some sites that are pull outs by the roads or drives. each site is gravel and relatively level. It cost me $37.00 for the weekend (Friday thru Sunday) Checkout time is 3 PM. If you need to fill your fresh water tanks just stop by our place and I'll be happy to top you off! LOL

Wilson Island State Park is a beautiful place to be! We usually head down there about this time of year to watch the geese, deer and hopefully spot the eagles. about time to go again ... and thanks for the tip about filling up on water before. we did not know there was no water hookups.
