Clorox Clean Up for mildewed awning

Today I washed the awning. It had mildewed black spots that did not want to come off. A neighbor in the park happened by and said have you ever used "Clorox Clean Up" and he gave me some to use. WOW what a great cleaner for the awning. I sprayed it on, waited 5 minutes and then used the scrub brush my awning looked like new.

Me too I have used a mix then a real good rinse so the threds don't get eaten by the bleach. as a good pratice after a rain of any kind the awning should be opened and let air dry so the mold cant start again.

Tilex also does a good job but I agree that you need to be wearing old clothes when you do it.

Being from Washington State (the mildew capitol of the world), we have always fought with the mildew stains. Yes we have used Beach and it has helped in keeping the the mildew at bay, but.... Those stains are stuborn! Someone on the MOC recomended the use of a product called "Awesome" for the awnings a little while back, so we tried it. Talk about awesome! Our Awning looked just like new after useing it, and I didn't have to worry about bleach dripping on me. It worked great. We bought ours at the dollar store in Yuma, AZ.

We found Awesome at our local Dollar Store for, you guessed it, a dollar! I admit that I was somewhat skeptical at first, but this stuff really works! Not just for the awning, but for black streaks as well. We haven't used it on the whole rig yet, just in one spot to test it. It was "awesome" and didn't appear to remove any of the wax from our last big cleaning. We got it because of a thread we read here on the MOC. It is so great to share things that have worked for us and to learn about things others have done. It's true, the MOC is a family!

I got it from the dollar store too and it is AWESOME. Cleans the black mold on the caulking very easily.

I got some Awesome a couple of weeks ago and agree it is totally awesome! I just used it to clean the side of the roof, the part you folks at the rally can see without climbing the ladder. I missed a couple of spots but it is whiter than it has been in probably 3 years and it was easy to get it that way with Awesome.

My awning desperately needs cleaning. I'll try Awesome on it because i have that. If that doesn't do it, I'll try the Clorox Clean Up. Thanks to all for the tips. Our awning is a mess.
