11" 8" is LOW
Watch this video to see what happens when someone ignores the warning lights and signs for low clearance.

Thats one strong bridge.
I guess it pays to read warning signs, and know just how high your Monty actually is. measure it, and put the reminder on the dash of the truck with a Brother P Touch printer.

Didn't John Kohl just post this clip??? Still glad to see it again...the more I am reminded of this accident waiting to happen the better my chances are of avoiding it in our future travels.

Knew I just saw it! Just goes to show you...my memory may not be fast or slow, just half-fast.

Awhile back we pulled into a filling station where the overhang was maked 13'1". I pulled the truck in but kept the Montana outside the overhang. While the tank was filling I climbed the ladder and eyeballed the clearance. I've measured our 3400RL at 12'10". I could see we could clear by a couple of inches or so, so after fueling we pulled forward very slowly and carefully. When the tail came out from under the overhang we both finally exhaled. I still would not go under another marked 13'1" without climbing the ladder and being convinced we're ok.

I was thinking about carrying a couple pieces of 3/4" or 1" PVC to put together to check unknown overheads before proceeding. Places I go limbs have been a problem. Pole saw works good on those.

Mike, I used to carry a telescoping crappie rod (for fishing) with tape marking our height. The pole was either 14 or 15 foot, which is hard to find. I no longer carry it. I managed somehow to break it while it was in the retracted position and stored in a locker. I never bothered to replace it because I only used it once or twice.
