I guess it's about time I get under there and see what is stamped on the rims. When the rains stop, I'll creepy-crawl under my 2006 3500RL with 6K axles and see what's stamped on the rims. My Marathons are E rated STs @3420lbs and suspect there might be that 3042 rating stamped on the rim. With 6K axles, only 3,000 lbs is expected at each wheel and so far these numbers are (barely) above that. Whatever the case, I don't expect much to change.
I think the G614s are too highly rated and some are experiencing some strange wear. My next set of tires, I'll look for a set of Maxxis STs and leave it at that (yup, I'll probably change out the spare to match, too).
My big advantage is that I think about these kinds of things, but put no where near the miles and days & nights out there, so I'm guessing this will keep my major problems to a minimum.
