My 2012 F350 DEF heat went out. Took the dealer 3 times and calls to the factory to figure it wasnt the tank heater but the other one which wasn't covered. They were great about it and only charged me for the part not the labor. But then I also had to have the AC fixed which wasn't covered and that was a $2500 bill. They had to take the entire dash out to replace the core

These new vehicles are crazy!!!

On most modern diesels, they take the cab off to work on most deep engines like injectors or turbos. The new Chevy's, and maybe other brands, have quick disconnects on the heater hoses at the firewall, as an example!

They wanted me to bring it in so they could troubleshoot it and diagnostics and said it might be under warranty, but wouldn't know till they did diagnostics. Somehow I think they would have found a way to make me pay for it. I ordered one online and changed it myself for about $100.
Replaced mine on my old 2016 F350 for about 100 bucks as well. Having a lift and an extra pair of hands makes it easier - not a hard job, just time consuming. Dealer wanted 1400.00 to fix - no way.
