A little lightweight for your unit don`t you think? The tow police will be along soon enough to tell you why.

Can I vote twice? I pull with two different trucks. One is my personal truck the other is my work truck provided by the company I work for.

My truck is rated to tow a 5th wheel up to 18,500 lbs. and has a payload capacity of 3,798 lbs.. My trailer has a dry weight of 13,052 lbs., GVWR of 16,600 lbs. and a hitch weight of 2,615 lbs. At no time am I loading my trailer to the max weight. So I am well under the max weight of 18,500 I am capable of towing. Am I worried about being stopped, absolutely not, and if I am stopped, I will have a nice chat with a fellow officer.

i have af350 diesel.
but, if i could afford it I'd look at the new 2020 3/4 ton GMC. And note, the new 3/4 are NOT like the old 3/4 ton trucks.

  • Tow up to 18,500 lbs.†
  • Max payload of 3,862 lbs.†

The poll is still active, so it really doesn’t matter when it originated. Of course, with the changes each manufacturer has made since, it may not reflect the results of a new poll. I bet it’s pretty close anyway.

This is what I have as well....same color...sweet truck. If you don't mind me asking, what model of Montana are you pulling and do you have any concerns or issues whatsoever? My wife and I want to purchase the 3120 next year.....and this is exactly why I signed up on this site, to see if this truck will be fine. Thanks in advance.

2016 Ram 3500 duelly, 385 hp , Asian auto trans. Crew cab , 4:10 rear end. We pull a 2011 3150 Montana. A tic over 11,000 lbs. it’s a breeze with this truck and we pull a lot of mountain grades.
