Shore Reel

We are getting ready to explore why our shore power reel isn’t working properly. My husband thank goodness is very mechanically inclined and has spoken to tech’s regarding the issue. We may invest in a new one. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you and safe travels!

We had to replace our power reel in our 2019 but in our 2020 so far no issues . Had it done at the factory.

I know some hate wrestling the "Anaconda" power cord, but I guess I eat the "high test" Wheaties because so far it is a non issue for me. That being said, I figured the lost storage space was more important ... we sold our OEM reel on Craig's List and ended up with more room to stack stuff.

I see where newer models have the power reel in a non storage position ... still it is of little value to me.

Fixed🤞

Well we (ok,he did!)took it out, took it apart and found 5 pins that guide the chain had fallen out. He reassembled it and fingers crossed it it fixed! Now spring weather needs to stay warm and away we go.

I have never enjoyed wrestling with the power cord especially in cold weather. I am now the lucky owner of a Montana with a power reel and love it.

Does the chord on the power reel feel softer than the standard 50A chord that feels more like a pipe than an electric chord?

I have seen the video's of the chord reel and the chord diameter seems much tighter diameter than a 50A chord could be rolled to, from my experience. Thinking maybe it is a softer outer sheath.

I think it may be a little softer because in cooler weather it doesn't seem to be as stiff and sure rolls up easy. But that maybe just me not having to wrestle with it making me think that way. I just can't picture them buying a different power cord for auto reels.
