Power
We’ve had a few power outage’s in the year and 4 months we’ve been in this park, the last one they said was going to be 8-11 hours. Oh heck no...so I ran to Harbor Freight and bought this Predator 3500 inverters generator.

We have the same problem at home, the power goes off a few times a year. I have a 220 receptacle outside. I made a pigtail powder cord. One 110 cord for each receptacle for the generator to the 220 volt receptacle. I powered both sides of my panel in my home for 110. We cut all the 220 breakers off and can run everything except our heat pump and water pump. Just be sure to cut the main breaker off.

We carry two Honda's and since we summer in Kansas we tend to use them about twice a year. Very handy when the temps are in the 90-100's and the humidity is over 90%.

Yes, the lineman get all sorts of pissy when the transformer is getting back fed. There are kits available that isolate the main breaker.

Had a coworker die some years ago when a generator came on at a ski resort and back fed into the utility line he was working on so power could be restored after a storm took down some wire. If you aren’t qualified to do electrical work and don’t have a permit to do the work, don’t connect a generator to a house.

That would be a shocking experience for him. That is why that is the first thing I do and then check it when I’m finished.

As a employee at a PUD we generate a lot of power and unfortunately we do have occasional power disruptions. We have a lot of linemen who work as safe as possible in that field. As stated before please be very careful when using a generator to supply power to your home when there is a power outage. I do understand the frustration when you loose your power..

Tom I don’t get frustrated, mad or upset when the power goes off. It’s o well the power is off. I don’t see how the power company does as well as it does with miles and miles of line and thousands of trees to fall on it. Electricity is the cheapest thing I buy. Think of all it does for me lights, water, heat and runs my machine shop to employee 3 people besides my self for a little over $200 a month. WOW!

There are a lot of YouTube videos about modifications to make on the Predator generators.

I will only use mine for the RV, if I were to do a home generator it would be as I do so many times with the buildings I build, with a transfer switch.
