Finally got around to washing the rig today. I must say for a 4 year old rig it sure looks good. I am really sold on the high gloss Gel coat finish, however, I do wish the fiberglass cap and rear cap had the same protection as the sides. I have even tried the NuFinish product and it still looks somewhat dull.
Can a paint shop apply a Clear Coat finish over these areas and have it last awhile. Perhaps someone in this business could chime in..
Phil when I replaced my graphics in march I clear coated the front cap and new graphics. Burlington does not recommend clear over their graphics but they did not hold up their way so I am trying mine. Now with that being said I sprayed adheasive on the graphics and flex in the clear and so far they look great. I hope they hold up better that when new. any good body shop should be able to clear coat them for you. Just remember this advise is worth what you payed for it.JMHO
The front and rear caps are fiberglass not gel coat. We did not get the high gloss gel coat because there was a weight issue at the time. Turned out the issue was false but our finish still looks very good after 4 hard years.
