Update on Knee Replacement

Very happy to report that all went well and have been home for a week now. The steps have not been a problem. I am walking and doing my exercises. Had my first PT session today and oh how they like to inflict that pain!!! They said I am ahead of the game and they hope to have the leg extension down to 5% in a couple of weeks. It is at 15% now. Bob is delighted to push down to make that happen. Will be glad when this is all over, but wanted you to know that it is doable to recover in a 5th wheel. Thanks for all your prayers and positive thoughts.

WAHOOOOOOOO

Maybe you could share any tricks to the recovery in a 5er. There were some warnings about the stairs, etc. How are you dealing with that?? Inquiring minds want to know.

Keep up the good work, and keep enjoying those gourmet meals!

Somehow I just knew that you would be way ahead of the game Myrna.. What a trooper you are.

Thanks to Bob for keeping us all up to date during your surgery.

You will actually like going to PT, even with the pain. Because, you know the end results will be worth it. Try to get as much flexion as you can, and then some. Take the pain killers 1 hour before PT. It helps.

September will be 1 year for me.

Glad to hear you're doing so well, Myrna! That Bob guy is a real taskmaster. But be sure you listen to him, just like a good wife should. (ohhhh, I can't believe I said that!)

I can't believe you said that either, Steve. Hmmm, no blueberry muffins for you. After today's session at PT, I think they are out to kill me. Exercise bike, leg pushes with weight resistance & leg lifts with 2 lb weight. I hurt so bad tonight that I can hardly walk...but I will persist. Tomorrow will be another day. Thank God for pain pills.
Thanks for the encouragement and I am keeping that goal in sight.

Now that exercise bike can be a challenge the first couple of times. But once you get past the feeling that the whole knee is going to come apart at the top of the revolution, its all down hill from there.
