New Members
I got a nice e-mail suggesting that as new members we post here as well as in the new member section. So here goes again.
We just bought a used Montana fifth wheel, model 2880, and found this site. In fact we close tomorrow. Our next project is to find a truck to pull it.
Jeanne has been shopping for all the things we think we need for traveling and decorating.
Oh yeah, we joined last night at about midnight, and we are complete novices at this pulling around our home.
We will check in from time to time for advice and friendship.
One last thing, we are from Kissimmee Florida and spend summers in Franklin North Carolina.
One other last thing, we have a tenative deal now on a 2002 F350 Crew Cab, full size bed. As soon as it's finalized we get the hitch and bring the fifth wheel to Kissimmee.

Bill and Jeanne,
Congrats on the Montana and the truck. I'm sure you will enjoy them both. It's lot's of fun equipping that new coach. In fact I'm not sure we've ever stopped. We'll look forward to seeing you around the forum.

Just to say "Welcome!" and also to comment that we are often in the Western North Carolina area. We usually go on "over the hill" to the Dillsboro/Silva area, primarily because we have friends living over that way. We have stayed a couple of times at Ft. Tatham Campground near Dillsboro and once at the Holly Cove Campground near Whittier. Our first visit to Franklin was about 1960 when we landed at the airport there in our small plane. I know it was in October of 1960 that we flew back to the area and landed at the Bryson City airport.
While on these personal notes, we also visit friends near Leesburg, Florida. Because of where they live, we stay at the Haines Creek RV Park.

Thanks to all of you. We've been reading a lot of the topics here with interest. Especially internet connections and cold weather. Although we live in Florida, about 2-3 years down the road we are considering a winter vacation to the Rockies. I'm not sure it's feasible though after reading some of the topics and posts.

Welcome aboard and congratulations! Those are both good choices. Our first Montana was a 2001 2880RL and we loved it. It's a sweet model and tows beautifully. Here's hoping you get a lot of enjoyment from yours. The truck will do a fine job for you, too.

We did buy the truck and pick it up Tuesday. Now we need a hitch and a spot to park the trailer as it can't be kept at our house. So things are moving along nicely.
