Morryde CRE 3000

Are the shackles on the center pivot supposed to go up from the spring eye bolt to the pivot arm? Or do they face down I seem to have one each way.
I seen a pic on the Morryde site and it seems they go up. Help please this may be why I am burning up tires.
Thanks

John

I was to quick to ask questions. I looked again at the Morryde site and under installation instructions there is a picture and they are up. now to get them all facing the same direction.

Just an arm chair thought here ... having one up and one down would effect the ride height from side to side and just maybe put slightly more weight on the low side, but a large slide adds weight as well. Even after you get both sides smiley face up ... I'd find and alignment shop suited for trailers and RV's to diagnose excessive tire wear.

On Edit, it does look like the correct side up has better support for the rubber cushion which could effect suspension reaction.

All shackles should face up. If you jack the trailer up. usually both on a side or all four wheels one or more shackle will sometimes reverse. Those shackles will usually return to normal over a few good road bumps as you extend and flex that MORryde system. I generally jack that wheel back up and use a bar to pull them back to normal position just because I easily can, I guess.

I did it by taking most of the weight off using the level jacks and then using a bottle jack under the spring eye I forced it to the right position. I realized it was quite dangerous as the jack could fly out if it slipped out from under the spring eye. I hid my head behind the tire while jacking. It really slammed into place when it went over center.

Try this

Place 1 or 2 2x4 boards used for the legs for leveling and drive over them. This should return the shackles to proper position. Be prepared to hear a loud bang. It is ok, just the shackles and spring as it returns.

What Dave W above said. They usually right themselves after a few miles.
