Unlimited data question

Now that Verizon no longer offers unlimited data, where should I be looking now?

Not just a simple question. Depends a lot on where you want to be spending your time. Both of our home bases are very poor with AT&T and just about impossible for any other national program so Verizon is what we have to do. Give us an idea of where you plan to go and how much bandwith you need.

mobile internet resource center covers this type of thing regularly. They just put out a video regarding the best currently available data plans from all the major carriers a couple of day ago on Youtube.

We have had an unlimited data plan from AT&T for a couple years now, and have been very happy with it. We can stream movies in most areas and can surf also with no apparent slow down. I have an iPhone, a tablet, and the hotspot that gives us wifi. https://www.att.com/plans/wireless.html

The OP is not referring to wireless standards but rather cellular.

Does anyone have experience with OTR Mobile? It’s supposed to be ATT and unlimited.

I got fed up with AT&T throttling so went with OTR Mobile a couple of months ago - I am very pleased with it so far. It does use AT&T facilities, but the speed has been good - we use it for Netflix all the time and it works great.

The Verizon website still has unlimited plans listed.

In my experience AT&T is unless. Was always dropping calls or worse now being able to make calls at all in lots of areas. Had to forward my AT&T phone to my wife’s Verizon phone to get calls.

Dumped them for Verizon as soon as I was able. Them when they AT&T bought Directv I dumped then for Dish.
My thought was if they can’t run a phone company how can they run a satellite TV company?

Just saying is all.

Contact Chris & Cherry - https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/

They will help you! We have AT&T and stream everything - no problems! We also have Verizon as a backup. You CAN get grandfathered in if you have/had unlimited.

They have the inside information that you will NOT get by calling AT&T or Verizon.

I ordered the ATT unlimited, uncapped, unthrottled service from OTR Mobile. Picked up a Netgear Nighthawk from Best Buy today. The SIM card will arrive next week. I found a couple of other forums where folks discussed this service. They were pretty positive. We’ll see.

ATT has nothing where we spend a few months every year. Verizon has been good everywhere. I am on the 55 Plus plan. Unlimited. My billing address is NC. That plan is not available in PA, is available in FL. So hit & miss I guess.

Been on AT&T for years unlimited with Canada and Mexico. Never had a service issue till this week in northern Nebraska and now the Bad Lands of South Dakota. Guess I’ll learn more as we continue west.

Thanks CaptnJohn, Our cell phones are with Total Wireless (Verizon MVNO). I checked out the Verizon 55+ unlimited and am going to move my cell service to this plan. I qualify as being over 55 and living in TX.

I just moved one phone over to the Verizon 55+ - unlimited data up to 15GB - then throttled. Just don't use it for a Hot Spot - in Hot Spot Mod - it cuts WAY BACK - I'm looking at getting the separate Hot Spot for $20/mth at full speed up to 15 GB
