Slide out problem

I'm having a problem with hydraulic slides when running them out they go about 2 or 3 inches then stop. Let your finger off the Incommand button press again and it will go another 3 inches and stops does this all the way out. It works fine on the way in and the other electric ones work fine.

I experience the same situation with both the hydraulic slides and the bedroom slide...bedroom slide button "sweet spot" is harder to find for some reason and is more temperamental. Sometimes I am actually worried I might damage the glass screen because I feel like i am pushing the thing so hard. All of the other touch buttons react "correctly" meaning all it takes is a light touch...I only have issues with the slide buttons.

I have been intending to call the in-command folks and hopefully get a lesson from them on the secret of their intended finger touch method and proper pressure. Frankly I have better success syncing my iPhone with in-command and touching the buttons there.

If you are like me, I sometimes have to wet my finger to use a touch screen due to my body capacitance being way different than most. Might want to try that to see if it helps.

The slides that keep stopping and then start back up are likely the result of the circuit breaker being weak/overheated. Many on this site and others upgraded the original hydrualic pump supply circuit breaker fronm the original 50amp auto resetting to an 80amp auto or manual resetting. Since doing so the issues go away.

Before there was the in-command system, that would definitely be the auto reset circuit breaker going bad. But this could also be a problem with the key pad.

Try operating the slides while you are near the front storage compartment (where the auto reset circuit breaker is located) with the door open and see if you hear the auto reset circuit breaker clicking when the slides stop. And again before you try to start them again. If so, that is the breaker tripping and resetting.

I think speedster100 is correct. Mine will do that if I am not hooked up to shore power or a generator. I have not had them stop while hooked up.

We had the same problem with our slides. I called ASA the manufacturer of the In Command System. They were very helpful and replaced the whole system at no cost to us. I think that is because they have had many issues with this product and Montana does not use this product anymore in their new units. Hope this helps.....

Completely agree this is probably the cause if the battery (batteries?) are good.

I was having very same issue with my 2017 Alpine. I contacted ASA ELECTRONICS for assistance. Though my rv was out warranty Jennifer was very helpful in getting a replacement. Turns out the first version of the In Command works via Bluetooth. The second version is hard wired to BCM. While waiting for process to take place, I was heading out on vacation and I found a temporary solution that now serves as my backup should the In Command fail. I installed a mechanical 6 pin switch I purchased from amazon. I found the schematic on Lippert website. I will post the pics. Hope it helps you as it works for me. No more frustration or embarrassing moments when you have onlookers when setting up
I now have the second version of the In Command Pro Plus. Since replacement I have not had anymore issues.

Didn't see it answered here but I had similar issue in my 2014 3402rl. Intermittent power to leveler. PIA when you're in a pinch! After some looking at the innards of the leveler system found that the ground cable from the leveler system to the body was loose right there above the battery. Now I check it before I go anywhere! Likely a breaker issue rather than a battery issue. I have 2 6 volt Trojan batteries and they were fully charged at the time.

When on shore power with your converter running, the battery voltage is about 13.8v while charging. When not on shore power, a good battery will measure about 12.5 volts. The higher voltage generates the required power at lower amps than the lower voltage. So if your auto circuit breaker is marginal, it may trip at the lower voltage (pulling more amps) than at the higher voltage (pulling less amps)

Thanks for the reply. If I want to replace the circuit breaker is that something that I can do myself? And if so would you recommend going with an upgrade to the 80 versus the 50? Where is the best place to Purchase a circuit breaker?
I am fairly handy, but I am not an electrician.

Not hard to do at all you can go to Auto parts and pick one up and yes go an 80 amp that is what most of us have done.

One last question, there are 250 amp breaker’s on the back wall of the compartment, one provides power to the tram Betty I’m not sure what the other does, should I just replace both of them with 80 amp breakers?

I assume you meant the "2 50 amp breakers" and not "250 amp breaker" (I have no idea what "tram Betty" means - don't you just love Auto-correct?),
Most of us have just replaced the 50 amp one which powers the hydraulic pump. It is the only one that sees high amp draws.

I assume "tram Betty" should be Trombetta. Trombetta is actually a company name, and the device is actually a reverse polarity contactor used to reverse the direction of the pump. Using Trombetta is sort of like using Zerox to describe a copy machine even though it may actually be a Brother or HP copier.

And as Carl said, typically the only one of concern is the one to the hydraulic pump.
