Did you name your rig??

Just wondering how many people out there have named their rig? My daughter and her husband just bought a new bigger Montana and gave it a name. First of all I thought that was a bit strange, but the more I think about it seems pretty natural. We pull a 2020 Montana 3121RL with a 2019 6.7L F-350 4x4 XLT short bed. Just bought a new 18K BW patriot slider, replaced an old Husky 16k slider!
We have thought and thought about it and have come up with the name "The High Lonesome." We love the mountains of Colorado, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, California and Idaho so thought that was appropriate. We also love the oceans, lakes, deserts, parries, rolling hills and most large open spaces, however mountains just have this majestic mystique about them.
Ok then, enjoy your travels and most of all be safe out there!!

Yes, people name their rigs often but I never chose to do so. No reason.

Our Big Sky was named Sky, our third Montana was #3 and the new one is Quattro. First one was Monty. We are very original people.

Once at the dealer, a salesman asked me if I'd brought my 'camper' in for service. He knew I had just purchased a new Montana.

I said with a grin, "No, but my Mobile Split-level Condo is getting checked out!".

Mine came with names... Montana High Country 373RD and Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD. I didn't really see any reason to rename them!!!

I had initially considered naming ours "Hannah" but my wife pointed out that Hannah Montana was actually Miley Cyrus, so she changed it to Bertha since it seems so big compared to our old TT.

My wife named ours Lizxy because the license plate started with LZ.

Usually Do

It's funny - we/I usually name my vehicles. Like my Truck we call TUG. But haven't really thought much about naming the 5er. I guess because we usually put our family logo on the back or side but we haven't even done that yet. Something to think about Hmmmm

Never named a vehicle or an RV... but I did name a golf cart "Bob" once. Nobody would understand the reason. It was replaced and the new one never got named.

Never thought about it ... now that I have thought about it, I don't see a need. I'll just refer to it as "the fiver " if it's part of a conversation.

We have named all of them. I have had 7 5th wheels and 2 travel trailers. I like to buy them, fix them up and sell and trade up. Our first was a 1998 34' carri-lite. We named Bertha because it was just so much bigger than anything we had before. Then I got a smaller 29' 5ver for my son he named Turtle Bay. We traded that for a 40' park model named the Meg. Sold Bertha and bought a 2004 34' cedar creek with 3 slides. Named it Firefly. It had a dark red theme inside. Bought a 2003 Montana to park on our weekend property. Named it Liberty for Liberty, Montana. Bought a little 27' bumper pull to park at my sister's house for visiting. Named Nori for little one. At least to us. Traded Firefly for a 2010 Coachmen northridge. 37' 4 slide with bunkhouse and 1 1/2 baths. It had a lot of black inside so we dubbed it Titan. Then I bought a 28' 2006 aruba fixer upper and took it to NY at a seasonal site because I have to work up there some. Named her freedom.

Bet your sorry you asked. Yes I have an rv addiction problem. My family has banned me from looking at rv sites online. Do they make a 12 step program for that?

I have actually made money on most of them. I think Titan is about at the top end of my towing capacity with my 2006 dodge 3500 SA diesel

I get graphics printed on ebay and put there names on them. Usually under $15.

Name

Name of our Montana HC...Hooch on Wheels

(If you don’t know what a “hooch” is, ask the next guy you see wearing a Vietnam Vet cap, he can tell you)

The previous statement is for younger, less seasoned campers only.

Your friend and mine,
