We both just recieved our second shot on Monday and doing fine, no ill affects at all, just a bit of a sore arm. Feeling good and moving on, now just waiting on the dealer to get things fixed and back on the road.

That's good news. Everyone I know has had some adverse effects on the second shot. Apparently it's pretty common to feel bad, get headaches, etc. for a few days. Count yourself lucky.

We have had our first shot and are now trying to find out how to get the second shot. Here in Va this is the most screwed up mess ever. When you get the first shot they give you a paper that says they will notify you of the second shot. They send a link and when you click on it there is nothing there. Oh well we find it.
I hear people say they won’t get the shot. There have been 900 people per million in Va die from this disease and 8 die per million die from the shot and most of them were in long term care. I think I’ll get in the 8 per million group.

Both of us got both shots. Sore arm was about it for us. It drives Joyce nuts because I like to tell folks that I couldn't feel the last two fingers on my left hand since I had the second shot. It's not a lie, I can't. Her issue is that I couldn't feel them for the last ten years, but that doesn't change the fact that I couldn't feel them after I got the shot

That's hilarious! You are a perfect candidate for this.... blame absolutely everything on Covid! Get in a head on collision and someone dies. Coroner report ... Covid. Fall off a 10 story building and go ker-splat on the ground.
Coroner report ... Covid. Drown while scuba diving. Coroner report... Covid. Parachute fail to open. Coroner report ... Covid!
Now we get the shot! Fingers numb ... diagnosis: Covid shot caused it. Migraine headache won't go away ... Covid shot caused it. Arthritis fairing up? Covid shot caused it. I got drunk last night, fell in a ditch, and banged my head. Covid shot caused it!
Wow! a whole new ball park has just opened up for more excuses for dumb things that happen! I love it!

We returned to the US late Sunday night after 4 months in central Mexico. Bofus got our first shot Tuesday. I had a sore triceps after 10 hours. Wife had sore triceps and shoulder after 1 hour. No biggie!
What is nice about ANY of the vaccines is they are all 100% effective for keeping you from hospitalization or death! At least that is what the CDC is saying!

I would rather be in the 999,992/million group myself.
Just saying. 😎

I have a good friend who did have a bad reaction to the shot, or his doctors about a dozen said he did. He had cancer 10 years or so ago. They had to kill off has immune system and replaced it and after $2,000,000 he is still alive after he was given 3 months to live. He got what looked like food poisoning and was in the hospital three days.
We can’t be sure exactly how many people have died from this disease but the CDC can get pretty close even if they don’t know exactly what each person died from. They know how many people will die each year. It’s pretty compiled but if a half million more die in a year when a pandemic is going on those extra deaths were from the pandemic.

I get my second shot on the 8th and Terrie gets her second shot on the 18th. I cannot believe how many people still think this is a hoax.

They think it's a hoax until someone close to them gets it and dies, then the reality sets in and they understand why the rest of us are wearing masks and staying clear of those who don't/won't.

This thing is no hoax. Nor is it total doom and gloom. There is a big difference between dying from covid and dying with covid. We'll never know the real numbers. Clearly if you have other significant issues it is a big deal. So would flues and numerous other common illnesses. What changes if you get the vaccine? Masks, distancing, hand washing, all remains in place. To each their own.

You left out the most important change...your chances of contracting the disease go down dramatically and if you do contract it the effects will be significantly milder.

I've heard that with a vax and you get sick the effects will be milder. In the case of covid, some folks have it and don't know it or have very mild symptoms. How can they say the effects will be milder when everyone's reaction is different? There is now way to quantify it unless the same person is exposed both with and without having a vax. Even then the results may not be definitive.
As we travel we are still going to take the same precautions with or without the vax. I'm afraid some will vax then feel invincible and not take effective precautions.

The results are by controlled test groups. Give 5,000 people the vaccine and another 5,000 a placebo and compare the two groups at the end of a trial period. The comparisons of those in each group who did not get the virus, those who got it but no symptoms, those who got it with mild symptoms, those who developed a serious illness, and those who died gives a good idea of how effective that vaccine is.
Just got word that a casual neighbor 3 houses away recently died from covid. Older guy but I never knew of any health issues.
We got our J&J shot last Saturday. Other than a little sore arm neither of us had any other issues. And don’t have to worry about a 2nd shot.

We got our shot last Wednesday J&J. We also Had no issues my wife didn't even have a sore arm. She thought maybe her syringe was empty, she was looking forward to feeling something just to reassure herself of getting the vaccine!
Looking forward to getting on the road again it's been 17 months 👎🏻👎🏻☮✌🏻️

Only problem with a test study like above is you have NO IDEA how many were actually exposed to the virus. I seriously doubt they intentionally exposed people so the test is valid, either. You could perhaps get a general idea assuming out of 5000 people they would have the same exposure rate, but you don't really know.
And for those who don't mask up later this year, why do you care? If you have a shot and they don't, that is their problem, right? If the shots are effective, you are protected. If not, then we are going to have this virus around for a long time.

I get how clinical trials run their course. What they can't quantify is how the affects of covid would be less if you had a vax. There is no way to determine how severe your symptoms will be with or without a shot.
